The legendary John Peel has passed away. The BBC site also carries his obituary and there’s also an article on the NME. I’m absolutely gutted, don’t know what to say. There are very few people that deserve the words of hero or legend, and John Peel was one of them. A very sad day for music indeed; my heart goes out to the Pig and his kids 🙁

Free Download: Black Label compilation BGK01
Yes, I’ve finally got off my lazy arse and started doing more work on the website so, a few months later than promised (!), the full Black Label BGK01 compilation is available for download at last. Get it over at the Ballagroove Downloads Page (it’s right at the top) and, if you use iTunes, get the artwork too (create a playlist with all the songs then drag & drop the image onto the artwork pane).
Now that that’s out, I guess we better start on the second one 🙂 Plenty of other things are in the pipeline for the site, too, now that I’ve got my Powerbook properly rigged-up for web development, but I better not promise anything just yet otherwise I’ll get loads of stick as to why it’s Christmas already and all that stuff I said I’d do still isn’t sorted yet! We’ll send out another e-mail when there is some progress, anyway, so make sure you’re subscribed to the mailing list 😉
Chris T-T Gig – Fri 19th November
Ballagroove is thrilled to announce that one of the UK’s finest songwriters is coming to the Island to play on the 19th November at the Old Friends’ Association, Finch Road, Douglas, IoM.

- Timothy Victor (UK)
- Stinging With Bigness
- Rhysical Pheck
(all are acoustic sets)
Tickets are £6 and available from Black & Blue, Douglas; the Rovers Return, Douglas; the Bay Hotel, Port Erin.
Chris T-T, based in London, has attracted a great deal of interest for his songwriting and performance talents and has received rave reviews across the music and news press over the last few years. He’ll be supported by Timothy Victor — also from the UK — who is the fifth member of the Broken Family Band; familiar faces on the festival circuit.
Local support will be from Stinging with Bigness and Rhysical Pheck: both playing acoustic sets.
Press Quotes for Chris T-T
Sunday Times (Top 5 Album of the Year 2003) –
“Fantastically intricate masterpieces… utterly indispensable… genius… a modern-day Blake.”
The Guardian (4 Stars) –
“The genius of Chris T-T’s songwriting is his ability to humanise even the most outlandish conceits. They seem instead like brilliant ideas that no-one else could’ve come up with.”
